Dear Students

I chose to go to law school because I thought that someday, somehow I’d make a difference. – Christopher Darden According to Justice K.Iyer ,”Profession of law is a noble calling and the members of legal profession occupy a very high status.’ Law is the foundation of every society and it develops abiding citizens , lawyers ,academicians and aspiring judges. Legal education in India refers to the education of the lawyers before their entry into practice. However, in modern times legal education should not only produce lawyers, it should be regarded as a legal instrument for social design. Globalization has expanded the roles of lawyers, expecting them to be social engineers. The objectives of legal education encompass meeting societal demands, moderating change, upholding moral values, and producing efficient lawyers equipped with theoretical and practical skills. I stongly believe that at VCL, the focus is on providing holistic legal education that goes beyond the confines of textbooks fostering critical thinking, legal reasoning, and practical skills development, ensuring that the VCLites are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the legal profession. At VCL the endeavour is to prepare professionally proficient, technically sound, ethically strong, socially responsible, justice minded outstanding legal professionals who can excel in the various facets of the legal profession. I reckon that VCL will always retain its decennial image of an institute par excellence.
